“She has made me a better rider and horsewoman."
I have been fortunate enough to have Julia as my trainer since I was in high school. From her I have not only learned my lower level dressage skills but over all good horsemanship and general care practices. I came to her as hunter/jumper with a problem OTTB gelding and I actually learned more about jumping from her than both of my previous trainers. My favorite thing about training with Julia is that her lessons are so applicable to every discipline. Even though dressage is my sport of choice, I love how she makes it about improving the horse's gait and ride-ability. I would absolutely not be where I am today if it was not for her. She has made me a better rider and horsewoman and I am truly thankful for her years of work that she has done and continues to do with our dressage community.

“She sets us up for the little successes that keep us building on our training pyramid."
Julia is exactly the right person to work with my older, "non traditional" dressage horse. She's patiently pushes both me and my horse out of our comfort zones, setting us up for the little successes that keep us building on our training pyramid. Her knowledge and experience makes me trust that we'll keep my dancing partner fit and comfortable in the best possible way as he ages. And she's a ton a fun to ride with!

It all starts with a good foundation. Julia teaches with this in mind. Straightforward, honest, and kind. Under her tutelage, even if you're not interested in showing, your horse will move better, be happier, and so will you. Call her, you won't regret it.

“I've seen her take the most difficult horses and make them beautiful."
Julia Wolffe is the best dressage trainer!! I learned so much riding with her. She trained my horse through the upper levels and helped make my challenging horse a dream to ride. With Julia's help, we scored frequently in the 70s in dressage shows. Julia has so much experience working with so many different horses, she really understands what needs to be done with each individual horse & rider pair, to get the best out of both. With a solid foundation in the core fundamentals, I've seen her take the most difficult horses and make them beautiful. Cannot recommend enough!!

“An excellent trainer and good all around person."
I trained with Julia in Cedar Park for a couple of years and learned so very much. An excellent trainer and good all around person.

“Julia explains her concepts in an easy to understand format that can be applied to anyone from any discipline."
I had the pleasure of attending one of Julia's clinics last year. Although I'm western based and mostly dabble in barrel/pole/ranch type horses, having a dressage perspective really helped me understand more about how to communicate my cues to my horses. Julia explains her concepts in an easy to understand format that can be applied to anyone from any discipline.

Julia is an amazing trainer. I've had many dressage instructors over time, and all contributed - in some cases, greatly - to my education, but Julia has just taken that and made it all whole! SO Good!

My horse and I had worked with 4 trainers here in Portland, resulting in multiple lameness and pain issues. Repeatedly, I was told to sell my horse--he was 'difficult' and will never be a good dressage horse. I heard about Julia and in sheer desperation, took Ben to see her. (He had deteriorated so badly, he could not even canter at this point.) Julia confirmed that he was not a bad horse, he had just had bad training. Happily, two years later, I am thrilled to say he is in full training, doing level 2 dressage moves easily and without pain and we will be competing this year. Thank you, thank you, Julia! You have helped me find my love of dressage again, and saved me from making the biggest mistake of all.....selling my sweet horse!
